Us

We are women committed to walking together toward the common goal of loving God and loving each other. We also love home, family, cooking, creating, and talking about things that matter. We believe that younger women need the encouragement and guidance of older women, and that older women need the encouragement and truthfulness of younger women. We bring each other insight, laughter, challenge, fun, and wisdom.

We also happen to be related. Sandi is the mother of Amie, Aaron, Nick, and Charin, and "Nana" (grandma) to Maddy, Alaska, Ezra, and Lily. Kayla married Sandi's son Aaron and is the mother of Maddy, Alaska, and Ezra. Charin is married to David Kent and their daughter is Lily. Amie is single and working on adopting a child. So between us, we just about have all the bases of life covered!
Here's a bit more about each of us...

Amie has been in some form of foreign missions work for about 15 years. She has traveled to Japan and has lived in India, Mexico, and now Ecuador. Amie is the oldest child and the "worker bee" of the family, who keeps a busy schedule and a fairly organized life. She is a great cook and could probably make millions of dollars if her roasted salsa was ever picked up by a big marketer! Amie enjoys reading, studying, game playing, rearranging furniture, and running in the park with her dog, Napo. She is currently going through the process of qualifying to adopt an Ecuadorian orphan.

Kayla is the busy mom of three children ages 4 - 8. She and her husband moved to Chicago a while back to plant a church in the middle of the city. "The Line" is thriving and Kayla's life is a very busy one. Kayla is one of the most frugal and inventive people we know. Making her own natural shampoo and deodorant is just one of the things that wow us. She takes her role as wife and mother very seriously, and makes it possible for their family to live well on a very tight budget. Kayla's honesty and wont of need to impress won us all over the first time we met her.

Charin is the baby of the family who now has her own baby, Lily.  She and her husband live in the great city of Chicago. She is artistic, creative, a marvelous hostess and loves home making. She graduated from the prestigious "French Pastry School of Chicago" a couple of years ago and is launching her own business "Akin Cakes." Charin brings class and finery to our family. Her home seems always open, and she is constantly creating something scrumptious in her kitchen.

Sandi married her high school sweetheart and then settled down to begin a family back in the '70s. She raised four active children (two she birthed and two they adopted) in the midst of a busy life as a pastor's wife. During some of those years she owned and managed "Victoria's Attic and Tea Room" on upscale El Paseo Avenue in Palm Desert, CA. Although she speaks to women at conferences and retreats, Sandi most loves one-on-one time, getting to the heart of the matter, home making, caring for and encouraging her husband in his work, and anything that has to do with her grandchildren. Her most recent venture is a jewelry business in which she hires and supports Ecuadorian women in need.  Sandi and her husband Steve founded "Compassion Connection" and currently live and work in Ecuador.
